So, after years of text studies and understanding of paper and blogs by various scholar and hours of streaming you tube videos, you understood how the technology works and set out to design and develop your team of technical ninjas and set out to design and develop your digital product, with a view to disrupt the technological space. While you were conceptualizing and working on your perfect business plan and assembling and flaunting tech wizardry, you tick everything on your checklist; except one point that you failed to note.

Well, if you are also familiar with tech space and working in this domain then you already understand where the focus is missing. The most important part in any product wether digital or physical is “USER”. The misalignment of vision in product team while deciding on technology and business and missing the user factor leads to fail of digital products.

This misalignment often occurs because of company vision to make quick home run and to showcase their technical expertise, which would be great if they can focus on the correct end user and design and incubate the product around them. After all they are the ones who are going to be using it, at their ease and with their technical knowledge and their dynamic environment.

In this world of user democracy, the user has the power to choose amongst plethora of option. To design a better product we must have a true understanding of our user. Its important and a must for all product wether digital or physical to actively involve in user research and market analysis along with constant seeking user feedback and designing based on that for enhanced user experience.

In the next post I will be touching upon the topic of role of design and metrics on user engagement.
